As many may know, our son Luca had a flare up of eczema at the end of last year which never left and was pretty uncontrollable. Not long after we saw one of the top paediatric dermatologist in the UK who prescribed a list of things including strong steroid creams. Having used them a few weeks, they weren’t working so they were stopped. His skin was still going between bad and worse, and continued like this for months following this.

In April, we finally found another Dr who was a God-send, and she helped us “manage” his skin. However, the eczema was still there and he was on topical steroids twice daily. 

Looking back now, we can really see the impact it had on Luca, our family, marriage, and lives, for 7 months we were just trying to get through the day (and night), and as a parent, it tore your heart everyday to see your child tormented by sickness.

Throughout all of this, we still believed God was a healer. Although at times, it was difficult to keep up faith, I believe the prayers of many of you who were praying for him kept us here. There were even nights when Nicole would wake me to pray for him because he had a sudden flare up, where I thought “will it make any difference?” But I would anyway, because it was actually all I could do - believe God.

During the revival with Ps Pugliese in June, he preached one of the nights about the need to keep contending. At the time, Luca actually had chickenpox so we were actually forced to stop the topical steroids, but were due to restart them the next Wednesday. (The day after the church 2-day fast)

So armed with that, I went into that 2-day fast contending for Luca and his skin - asking for a complete miracle so we didn’t have to go back on creams. The first night I got back from work…it had gotten worse. He had a flare up across his whole body. The second day I got back - it was completely clear! God had done a complete miracle! No creams!

An absolute miracle!! We thank God! No more steroids and no more inflammation. We’ve finally been able to start getting our lives back together, and even a good nights of sleep thrown in!

We’re also due an allergy test for him in the next few weeks as a few allergies for identified during this time. Please pray with us that results will come back completely clear with no allergies!
